Preview: Kilmarnock vs. Livingston - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Saturday's Scottish Premiership clash between Kilmarnock and Livingston, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Kilmarnock will continue to try and end their seven-match run without a victory in all competitions when they host Livingston in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.

The visitors, meanwhile, sit three points above Killie in the table and are undefeated in their previous two matches heading into this one.

Having failed to pick up three points since the opening day of the season, Kilmarnock are undergoing an extremely difficult period right now in the Scottish Premiership.

The lack of victories has seen the club drop to ninth in the table with only goal difference keeping them out of the relegation zone right now.

It adds a lot of pressure to Derek McInnes as he tries to guide his team out of this situation, especially since it has been seven games since his team have won in any competition.

Kilmarnock were handed a 3-1 defeat by Celtic during their previous match before the international break, with David Watson's goal making little impact on the game overall.

However, Killie have only been beaten once in their four home fixtures this season, something that should add a little confidence to the team.

Despite that, the visitors are on the back of a two-game run without a loss after drawing against St Johnstone and then defeating Motherwell, with their opponents falling to 10 men on both occasions.

The Lions looked confident in their most recent outing, with Bruce Anderson and Sean Kelly both getting themselves on the scoresheet to secure the three points.

While David Martindale's men have only won a single match on the road to this point, with their recent form the team should have no shortage of momentum heading into the game.

Three points could see Livingston climb into the top four if other results go their way this weekend, which would be a major boost for the Lions.

However, Martindale will need to be working on the defensive side of the game in training as no other team has conceded more goals in the division to this point.

Team News

Kyle Magennis will continue to be a long-term absentee for Kilmarnock due to his hamstring injury, as he is not expected to be back until the winter break.

Liam Donnelly could be in line to make a return to the squad though following his own fitness battles, while Watson should retain his place in the starting lineup following his goal against Celtic.

For the visitors, it could be an unchanged XI from the team that defeated Motherwell due to the perfect performance they displayed both offensively and defensively.

Anderson will lead the line after scoring his third goal of the season before the international break, while his strike partner Joel Nouble is still looking to get off the mark for this campaign.

Kilmarnock possible starting lineup:
Dennis; Mayo, Wright, Findlay, Davies; Armstrong, Lyons, Watson, Kennedy; Dallas, Vassell

Livingston possible starting lineup:
George; De Lucas, Obileye, Kelly; McKay, Holt, S. Kelly, Penrice, Pittman, Nouble; Anderson

We say: Kilmarnock 1-2 Livingston

Kilmarnock will be confident that they can find the back of the net in this game against a team that has looked defensively susceptible at times.

However, Livingston have looked the stronger team throughout the season, and that in itself should lead to them taking all three points.
