Troy Deeney: Robert Huth is "toughest opponent"

Troy Deeney reveals that Leicester City's Robert Huth is the "toughest opponent" that he has come up against in the Premier League this season.

Watford striker Troy Deeney has revealed that Robert Huth is the "toughest opponent" that he has faced in the Premier League this season.

German defender Huth was deemed surplus to requirements by Stoke City, who sold him to Leicester City for around £1m last summer.

Since then, the 31-year-old has formed a partnership with Wes Morgan that has provided the Foxes with a platform for their unexpected title challenge.

With that in mind, Deeney conceded that he found Huth "horrible to play against" on both occasions this term.

"I have played against every Premier League defence this season for Watford and Leicester's Robert Huth is the toughest opponent I have faced," he told BBC Sport.

"Like his teammate Wes Morgan, who I had many battles with in the Championship earlier in our careers, Huth is old-school. [He is] an out-and-out defender who really enjoys the physical side of the game.

"That is normally the side I thrive on too, but I did not have much joy against the German. He is horrible to play against, in the most complimentary way."

Huth has made 221 clearances this term - a total only bettered by five defenders.
