Andy King: 'Esteban Cambiasso own goal was a freak'

Leicester City midfielder Andy King says that Esteban Cambiasso's own goal against West Bromwich Albion was "a total freak".

Leicester City midfielder Andy King has said that Esteban Cambiasso's own goal against West Bromwich Albion was "a total freak".

An attempted header from Wes Morgan cannoned off Cambiasso's knee and slipped inside the post to condemn City to a 1-0 defeat at the King Power Stadium.

The defeat is Leicester's fourth in five matches and King believes that the manner of the goal sums up their form of late.

"It was one of those things," he told the Leicester Mercury. "There is not a lot you can do. No one is really to blame for that. You can't say he shouldn't have been there or Wes shouldn't have headed the ball out.

"It is a freak accident and, after everything he has seen in the game, that is probably the first time that has happened to him. That has summed up the last few weeks especially. How that has gone in is almost laughable, but that is life and that is football.

"We were very unlucky. We created the better chances and I can't really remember them having many chances. Their goal was one of those where I will never again see that happen in my career."

Leicester are now 17th in the Premier League table following the defeat.
