Preview: Lincoln City vs. MK Dons - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Tuesday's League One clash between Lincoln City and MK Dons, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Lincoln City will attempt to extend their unbeaten to eight games when they play host to MK Dons on Tuesday.

While Lincoln occupy 15th position in the League One table, MK Dons currently sit in the relegation zone and will be looking to avoid a fourth consecutive defeat.

While Lincoln have avoided defeat in their last seven matches, they head into Tuesday's contest off the back of three consecutive draws.

The Imps took the lead through Ben House in Saturday's away meeting with basement side Forest Green Rovers, but a second-half strike from Jordan Garrick denied Lincoln all three points.

As a result, Lincoln have now drawn 16 of their 31 matches in League One this season - four more than any other team in the third tier.

While they are the only team yet to lose a home league game in the third tier this term, 12 of their 15 home matches have ended all square.

Although Lincoln boss Mark Kennedy will be frustrated with the number of draws, his side are nine points clear of the drop zone, and with relegation looking unlikely, they may be targeting a top-half finish.

Since beginning February with four points from games against Bristol Rovers and Oxford United, MK Dons have suffered three consecutive defeats

The relegation-threatened side were thrashed 5-0 and 5-2 in away games against Bolton Wanderers and Sheffield Wednesday respectively.

Another loss followed on Saturday when they were edged out 1-0 by promotion-chasing Ipswich Town following a first half effort from Sam Morsy.

As a result of their poor form, MK Dons are currently two points adrift of safety, but they will move out of the relegation zone with a win on Tuesday.

MK Dons will can take some inspiration from the fact that they are unbeaten in their last three meetings with Lincoln - a run of games which includes last month's goalless draw at Stadium MK.

Team News

Lincoln are unable to call upon the services of Joe Walsh and Adam Jackson, and while Matty Virtue is nearing a return to fitness, Tuesday's game will come too soon for the Blackpool loanee.

Lewis Montsma is also unavailable for the midweek encounter as he serves the final game of a three-match ban.

House returned from suspension to score Lincoln's only goal at the weekend, and he will look to add to the eight league goals that he has scored this season when he leads the line against MK Dons.

As for the visitors, they are still without Warren O'Hora and Dean Lewington, who are nursing injury issues.

Daniel Harvie missed Saturday's defeat to Lincoln due to an issue, but he could recover in time to be included in Tuesday's starting lineup.

Mo Eisa has scored eight goals across all competitions this season, and he is expected to retain his place up front.

Lincoln City possible starting lineup:
Rushworth; Eyoma, O'Connor, Roughan; Poole, Bishop, Erhahon, Boyes; Diamond, Shodipo, House

MK Dons possible starting lineup:
Cumming; Watson, Tucker, Jules, Harvie; Maghoma, McEachran; Kakai, Devoy, Leko; Eisa

We say: Lincoln City 1-1 MK Dons

MK Dons will be determined to return to winning ways as they bid to move out of the relegation zone, but we think that they will have to settle for a point against a Lincoln side who are yet to lose a home league game this season.
