Liverpool already guaranteed Champions League qualification

Liverpool are assured of a top-four finish in the Premier League this season following Chelsea's 2-0 loss to Manchester United on Monday.

Liverpool have already sealed a place in next season's Champions League following Chelsea's 2-0 defeat to Manchester United on Monday night.

The Reds are a whopping 35-points clear of the Blues, who went down to headed goals from Anthony Martial and Harry Maguire in the clash at Stamford Bridge, while fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur are a further point behind.

A top-four finish in the Premier League is now guaranteed for Liverpool, meaning they have sealed their place in next term's Champions League group stage before this season's knockout rounds has even kicked off.

Jurgen Klopp's side have bigger targets to aim for in the remaining months of 2019-20, though, with a maiden Premier League title within their grasp and last-16 ties to come against Atletico Madrid and Chelsea in the Champions League and FA Cup respectively.

Liverpool's defence of the European Cup continues on Tuesday with a visit to the Wanda Metropolitano for the first leg of their tie with Atletico.
