Danny Ings nearing return to Liverpool training

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp reveals that Danny Ings will step up his recovery from injury when he returns to training this week.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Danny Ings will return to training on Tuesday.

The former Burnley striker has been sidelined since the first training session under Klopp having suffered an ACL injury that is expected to keep him out for the remainder of the season.

Klopp admitted that the England international is still some way from making his return to first-team action, but said that he will step up his recovery from tomorrow.

"I had lunch with Ingsy a few minutes ago," Klopp is quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo.

"He's not in the perfect way, but Tuesday will be his first time outside again. He's still a long way away from being available but he's here."

Ings scored three goals in eight appearances for Liverpool before being struck down with injury.
