Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is reportedly facing up to six months on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on his troublesome hip.
The 25-year-old jetted off to the United States recently for a four-and-a-half-hour operation that is hoped to have finally rectified the issue, with renowned surgeon Dr Bryan T Kelly performing exploratory and remedial work on the hip joint.
However, Sturridge is now to endure four months of rest and may not be back in action until November, according to The Mirror.
The former Chelsea and Manchester City forward has been limited to just 18 appearances in a season that has been ravaged with hip, thigh and calf problems.
