Jota, Bradley, Matip - Liverpool injury news and return dates for Everton

Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Premier League Merseyside derby with Everton.

A trip to hostile ground awaits Liverpool on Wednesday night, as the Reds make the short trek to Goodison Park to face Merseyside derby rivals Everton in the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp's men bounced back from their recent failures by comfortably dispatching Fulham 3-1 on Sunday, where goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ryan Gravenberch and Diogo Jota did the damage.

Now second in the standings above Manchester City, Wednesday's visitors are only below Arsenal on goal difference as things stand, although the Gunners can move three points clear by beating Chelsea on Tuesday night.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their reunion with Everton, who bested Nottingham Forest 2-0 in a controversial relegation clash over the weekend.

Diogo Jota

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hip
Possible return date: May 13 (vs. Aston Villa)

Diogo Jota made his first start in over two months during the win over Fulham, but Klopp has now revealed that the attacker sustained a hip injury in West London, ruling him out for the next couple of weeks.

Conor Bradley

Status: Out
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: May 5 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

The foot injury that Conor Bradley sustained in the recent loss to Crystal Palace will rule him out until the end of the month, but the 20-year-old should be back at Klopp's disposal for the final few games of the season.

Thiago Alcantara

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: Unknown

Thiago Alcantara's only appearance in 2023-24 ended with the Spaniard sustaining a severe muscular injury against Arsenal in February, and the veteran midfielder - out of contract in June - is not expected to take to the field again this season.

Ben Doak

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Ben Doak is still waiting for his first appearance of 2024 owing to the knee injury he picked up while representing the Under-21s in December, and the Reds are yet to put a timeframe on his recovery.

Joel Matip

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Joel Matip picked up his serious knee issue around the same time as Doak, and the Cameroonian will miss the rest of the season with his ACL problem, which may also bring about an undesirable end to his Liverpool career.
