Liverpool defender Daniel Agger admits that Liverpool may not be good enough to finish teams off after just one win in their last nine league games.

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has claimed that Liverpool may not be good enough to finish teams off after their 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday made it just one win in their last nine league games.

The Reds are on their worst run of form for almost 50 years, resulting in them plummeting down the table and out of the race for Champions League football, and Agger believes that it is because they are not converting their chances.

"We didn't score a winner [against Villa]. Maybe that's because we aren't good enough. We had a lot of good chances, especially at the end. But we couldn't score the winner and that's the fact," said the Denmark international.

"It is a bit of everything; we are not playing well, we are not working the right way but we are trying everything we can and hopefully it will turn soon. We have to try to win every single game - especially at Anfield - but that has not happened the last few weeks and we have to turn it around.

"We play Blackburn on Tuesday and we have to do a bit better if we want a result there."

Liverpool sit eighth in the league table, one point behind Merseyside rivals Everton.
