Dalglish: There's no racism in football

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish thinks that racism is not "prevalent" in English football.

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish believes that racism is not an issue in football despite the Football Association investigating two separate allegations in the Premier League.

Reds striker Luis Suarez has been accused by Manchester United's Patrice Evra of spouting a racial slur during the sides' 1-1 draw at Anfield earlier this month.

Chelsea and England captain John Terry is also under investigation for an alleged racist remark targeted at Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand.

Despite the accusations, Dalglish believes that English football does not have a racism problem.

"I don't think it is prevalent in the game here, and it certainly isn't at this football club," said Dalglish. "For me, I don't see racism as far as this football club is concerned, apparent in any way, shape or form.

"We have got a case going on ourselves which seems to be dragging its feet. We would rather have it done and dusted, out in the open and whoever is the guilty party, whether it's the person who said it or the accuser, get their due punishment."

Meanwhile, Ferdinand has spoken out about the incident, claiming that he is fully focused on playing football.
