Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has hailed the Reds' 2-1 victory over Manchester City as a "massive win" in their pursuit of the top four.
Jordan Henderson opened the scoring before Edin Dzeko equalised for the visitors at Anfield, but Philippe Coutinho curled in the winner to move Brendan Rodgers's men up to fifth in the Premier League table.
Lallana talked up the significance of the victory and labelled match-winner Coutinho as a "little magician".
He is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "That's a massive win for us. We've got momentum, they're the champions and we deserved it. The little magician - Coutinho - at the end, came up with a wonderful goal. With players like that we'll go far.
"Our system has been causing problems for opponents, the manager said keep patient and find the space. We thought we were unlucky not to go in ahead at half-time. The lads showed character, many played extra time in midweek and had a long flight but we showed we can keep fighting."
Rodgers's men host relegation-threatened Burnley in their next game on Wednesday evening.
