Nice striker Mario Balotelli is to be rewarded for his impressive start to the season by earning a recall to the Italy national side, according to a report.
The 26-year-old was shipped out of Liverpool in the summer after a dismal two-year spell on Merseyside, which saw him score just two league goals for the club.
Balotelli has had better luck in Ligue 1, however, where his four goals in the first three games of the campaign have helped Nice into second place in the table.
Sky Italia reports that the French side have received notification from the Italian Federation that the striker will now be called up for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Spain and Italy.
Balotelli has not featured for the Azzurri since the 2014 World Cup when Italy crashed out at the group stage along with England.
