Liverpool are allegedly contemplating a move for Lille attacker Jonathan Ikone during the summer transfer window.

Lille winger Jonathan Ikone has allegedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Liverpool.

With the Merseyside giants earning a place in next season's Champions League, manager Jurgen Klopp has more freedom to add a couple of high-profile players to his squad.

According to transfer journalist Pedro Almeida, contact has been made regarding a deal for key Lille player Ikone.

The 23-year-old contributed four goals and five assists as his club edged out Paris Saint-Germain to win the Ligue 1 title, subsequently earning Lille a place in European football's premier competition.

Nevertheless, the French outfit may still make at least one sale during the summer window, and it is claimed that Liverpool are prepared to put together a proposal of £21.5m plus Xherdan Shaqiri.

Liverpool are keen to offload the Switzerland international after the 29-year-old made seven starts in all competitions during the recent campaign.
