Liverpool are reportedly considering an £18m move for Red Bull Salzburg and Croatia midfielder Luka Sucic in this summer's transfer window.
The 20-year-old has featured 15 times in the Austrian Bundesliga for a Salzburg side who sit nine points clear at the top of the league standings, however the player is currently sidelined with a knee injury.
Sucic has been capped four times for Croatia and was part of Zlatko Dalic's squad which reached the semi-final of the World Cup in Qatar last year, although the former FC Liefering man did not appear in the tournament.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Jurgen Klopp's Reds are interested in Sucic, with the club plotting a midfield rebuild in the summer.
The report also claims that the midfielder - dubbed as the 'new Luka Modric' - has a release clause at Austrian outfit Salzburg of around £18m, with Newcastle United also keen on the player.
Sucic's involvement for the rest of this campaign is in doubt following a knee injury sustained in the win over Rapid Wien last weekend - Salzburg are hopeful of having the midfielder fit again in May.
Liverpool travel to Spain to face Real Madrid in the second leg of their round-of-16 clash in the Champions League on Wednesday night, whereas Salzburg end the regular season in the Austrian Bundesliga by hosting Altach on Sunday.
