Liverpool reportedly decide against sending young winger Harry Wilson back out on loan to a Championship side.

Liverpool are thought to have ruled out Harry Wilson going back out on loan to a Championship club next season as they look to step up his development.

The 22-year-old winger impressed on loan at Derby County under the tutelage of Frank Lampard last season, scoring 15 goals in 40 games to help mount their push for promotion.

As a result a slew of second-tier sides are interested in his signature for the upcoming campaign, including the Rams and promotion rivals Leeds United.

According to the Birmingham Mail, Liverpool have now decided that Wilson will be sent back out on loan next term but only to a Premier League side as they are keen for him to experience regular first-team football.

Wolverhampton Wanderers, who are able to offer European football, are thought to be interested in such a move, while newly-promoted rivals Aston Villa have enquired about a permanent deal but were quoted a hefty £20m fee.

The Reds are said to be in no rush to resolve his immediate future, however, and intend to assess him in pre-season before deciding on his next move.

Wilson has been with Liverpool since the age of eight and to date has made just one appearance for the senior side, coming on for Philippe Coutinho in an FA Cup replay against Plymouth Argyle in January 2017.
