Liverpool reportedly intend to hijack Watford's move for Brazilian starlet Joao Pedro after being impressed by him in Fluminense's win against Atletico Nacional.

Liverpool are looking into signing Brazilian starlet Joao Pedro from Fluminense, according to a report.

The 17-year-old agreed to join Watford from Fluminense last summer, but he currently remains contracted to the South American giants.

Pedro was expected to complete his switch to Vicarage Road when he turns 18 next year, though El Globo claims that Liverpool will attempt to hijack the transfer.

The Reds are said to have watched the youngster in action on Thursday and saw him score a hat-trick in his side's 4-1 win over Atletico Nacional to make it seven goals in 10 appearances.

Whereas Watford reached a £2m agreement with Fluminense, however, the report indicates that Liverpool would have to pay 10 times that amount because of a clause in his contract.
