Newcastle United will reportedly make an improved loan offer to Liverpool for striker Andy Carroll.
The Reds turned down a bid from the Magpies to take the England international back to the Sports Direct Arena last night.
However, Liverpool officials would consider parting with the centre-forward on a temporary basis if Newcastle improve the terms of the deal that they propose, according to BBC Sport.
Despite being disappointed with his situation at Anfield, Carroll is believed to be open to the possibility of rejoining his boyhood club on a loan basis.
Newcastle received £35m from Liverpool for the 23-year-old back in January 2011.
