Brendan Rodgers declares that he would "love" Craig Bellamy to stay at Anfield, despite Cardiff admitting interest.

New Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers spoken out about the future of Craig Bellamy, admitting that he would "love" the forward to stay at the Anfield outfit.

Cardiff City recently declared that they wanted to re-sign the Welshman after a loan there in 2010, but Rodgers has now said that Bellamy features in his plans.

"I had a really positive chat with Craig on Monday," Rodgers told the Liverpool Echo. "It was good to meet him and get his side of the Liverpool story. He's a big supporter of this club – he loves the club.

"I like his intensity, his work-rate and his passion so I would love him to be here."

Bellamy re-signed for Liverpool on the last day of last summer's transfer window.
