Daniel Sturridge has suggested that he is looking to remain at Liverpool for the upcoming campaign.
After being loaned out to West Bromwich Albion in January, it was expected that both Liverpool and Sturridge would look to secure a transfer elsewhere during the summer.
However, Sturridge has featured in the club's early pre-season friendlies and the England international has indicated that he would prefer to stay at Anfield.
The 28-year-old is quoted by The Mirror as saying: "I see myself staying at Liverpool, hopefully being part of the team week in, week out.
"Pre-season is going well, so for me it's keeping my head down and building on that. I'm excited about the season ahead and it feels great to be back."
Sturridge currently has just 12 months remaining on his contract.
