Lyon manager Bruno Genesio has confirmed that Dutch winger Memphis Depay failed to report for duty on the first day of pre-season.
The 24-year-old was the only absentee from the Ligue 1 outfit's 28-man squad on Monday, amid ongoing rumours that he is wanted by AC Milan.
Depay, who joined Lyon from Manchester United 18 months ago in a deal worth up to £22m, now faces a fine for his training no-show following a five-week break.
"One player out of 27 is missing," Genesio told reporters. "It's Memphis. He will be punished financially when he returns. He had five weeks of vacation like any other."
Depay returned to his best form in Ligue 1 last season by netting 19 goals and setting up a further 13.
