Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has said that it is vital his team beat Roma in their Champions League match on Wednesday evening.
The Citizens were defeated by Bayern Munich in their opening group match and Pellegrini admits that they cannot afford to drop any points at home.
"It's a crucial game because Roma won their first match and we lost, so it's important at home to win our first three points," The Guardian quotes Pellegrini as saying.
"It will be a very tough group and we cannot drop points here at home. It's very important for us to win that game.
"I hope that the team will play the same way as we have this week. I'm very happy with all the performances, against Chelsea, against Sheffield Wednesday and on Saturday. I hope we can continue to stay in the same way."
City reached the knockout stages of the Champions League last season, where they were beaten by Real Madrid in the last 16.
