Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Newcastle United

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Newcastle United on Sunday.

Manchester City will be aiming to make it three wins from three Premier League games when they travel to Newcastle United on Sunday.

The Citizens are yet to concede a goal after 2-0 and 4-0 wins against West Ham United and Bournemouth respectively, with only Arsenal matching their 100% record after two matches.

Newcastle, meanwhile, have not been breached yet either, and also remain unbeaten after beating Nottingham Forest 2-0 on the opening day before claiming a 0-0 draw away to Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their contest with the Magpies on Sunday.

Aymeric Laporte

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: September 10 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Aymeric Laporte underwent surgery on his knee at the end of last season, having played through the pain barrier during Man City's closing weeks of the campaign. The Spain defender missed the entirety of Pep Guardiola's side's pre-season tour in the United States, and will not be available until September.

Kalvin Phillips

Status: Doubtful
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: August 21 (vs. Newcastle)

Kalvin Phillips was not involved for the Citizens' comfortable 4-0 win against Bournemouth, with Guardiola citing "some niggles" as the reason for the midfielder's absence. He could return to the bench at Newcastle this weekend, but may only be utilised if necessary.

Cole Palmer

Status: Doubtful
Type of injury: Foot
Possible return date: August 21 (vs. Newcastle)

Like Phillips, Palmer was not a part of the squad against Bournemouth due to a "knock in his feet". The 20-year-old could be involved again this weekend, having made a two-minute cameo away to West Ham on matchday one.

MANCHESTER CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man City have no suspended players for their trip to the North-East this weekend.
