Manuel Pellegrini unsure of David Silva injury return date

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini admits that David Silva will miss his side's Champions League clash against Bayern Munich next week.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that he is unsure when David Silva will be ready to return to action.

The Spaniard has been out since his side's defeat to Newcastle United in the Capital One Cup last month with a knee ligament injury.

Pellegrini has now confirmed that Silva will miss his side's Champions League match with Bayern Munich next week, but he is hopeful that he could return for his City's fixtures in December.

He told reporters: "We don't know [when Silva will be back] because David still feels some pain in his knee, so he's not able to kick the ball.

"We'll see if, next week, he can be ready at the end of the week. It will depend on the way he improves in the next few days. He still feels a little pain, but not very hard, so I hope in the next week we have good news about David."

City face Swansea City in their Premier League clash later today.
