Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho has spoken of his delight after being recalled into the Brazil squad to face South Africa in a friendly next month.
The midfield playmaker joined City from Shakhtar Donetsk for £30m last summer, as he sought to further his chances of forcing his way into Brazil's squad for the 2014 World Cup.
"I arrived at home after training, and the telephone began to ring," Fernandinho told reporters.
"I was really anxious to find out if my name was on the list. It was an immense joy for me.
"It's a big challenge for me. If I get the opportunity to show what I can do, I'll do my best to be on the final list for the World Cup."
Brazil will face South Africa in a friendly on March 5.
