Joe Hart signs new long-term contract to extend his stay with Manchester City

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart signs a new long-term contract to keep him at the Etihad Stadium until the end of the 2018-19 season.

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has signed a new contract with the club to keep him at the Etihad until the end of the 2018-19 season.

The deal sees 27-year-old Hart become the sixth City player to agree a new contract with the club in 2014, alongside the likes of Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and David Silva.

"I'm really happy, I've been here a long time now and I want to keep that going," Hart told the club's official website.

"The new deal means I get to stay longer – the club's doing amazing things at the moment, we've created history and we want to keep doing that.

"Wanting to stay here was never going to be an issue for me - I've loved every moment since I joined."

Hart has now appeared on 276 occasions for City, having made his debut against Sheffield United in October 2006.
