Manchester City forward Stevan Jovetic has claimed that the support he received from Manuel Pellegrini and his staff is a major factor behind his impressive form in the early stages of the season.
Jovetic, who joined from Fiorentina last summer, struggled to make an impact in his first campaign due to a number of injuries, and he admits that the faith put in him by the club's staff was crucial.
"Last year was very, very difficult, but that is past and I don't even think about that," the 24-year-old told members of the media. "I just concentrate on the future, and the next game, and hope I can continue like this.
"It is most important when the staff, the coach and the president are satisfied with you.
"When they believe in you, it is very important, and my way of saying thank you is to play well."
Jovetic scored twice as City beat Liverpool 3-1 on Monday night.
