Manchester City defender Stefan Savic has stated that he is confident he can fill the gap left by Vincent Kompany.
City skipper Kompany still has three games left to serve on the sidelines after his red card against Manchester United last weekend, but Savic has insisted that he can step into the team.
"To replace Vinny, everyone expects a lot from you because he's our captain and leader. But I think I can do it. It's not easy but I'm getting more confident and I can do better – try and do everything for the team," Savic told The Sun.
"I feel okay. As I'm playing more games I'll get more experience and confidence. I think as time goes on I'll do better."
City will attempt to return to winning ways when they travel to Wigan on Monday evening.
