Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has been told that he must "apologise" if he is to represent the club again this season.
The 28-year-old striker returned to the club on Tuesday following three months in Argentina, but a source has claimed that it may take some time for a resolution.
"Firstly he's got to apologise, show some remorse and get fit. There's a long way to go before he gets back in the first team," said a City source.
A recent fans' poll showed that 59% did not want him to play for the club again, but Tevez has vowed to "win over" the supporters.
