Carlos Tevez vows to "win over" Man City fans

Carlos Tevez is hoping to "win over" the Manchester City fans that have turned against him over the past few months.

Carlos Tevez has revealed that he is hoping to "win over" the Manchester City fans that have turned against him.

The Argentine is due to take part in training tomorrow following a two-month exile back in his homeland without City's consent.

However, Tevez is keen to keen to get his kickstart his career, which has been stalled since a touchline row with City boss Roberto Mancini in September.

"I want to go back to Manchester and win over the City fans," Tevez told Argentinian television. "I didn't understand City fans burning my shirt. It hurt. It's normal they react like that because they read all sorts of thing.

"People turned their back on me but it's normal. I didn't understand. I've decided to return to City.

"I know I have what it takes to revert the situation. I know it'll be hard, but it's a nice challenge."

Looking back at his row with Mancini in the Allianz-Arena five months ago, Tevez said: "I had warmed up during the first half. Then I went to the dressing room. For the second half I was ready.

"In that second half, Mancini decided to replace Edin Dzeko with Nigel de Jong. It was a defensive sub. I didn't understand. Dzeko argued with Mancini.

"I decided to sit. Mancini was upset for arguing with Dzeko. Then he looks at me and asks me to warm up. I never refused to play. I refused to keep warming up. The club investigated and then they fined me."

Yesterday, Mancini hinted that Tevez could still have a future at City if he apologised for his actions.
