Kyle Walker is reportedly on the verge of signing a new contract at Manchester City, with Bayern Munich set to fail in their attempts to sign the experienced defender.
The England international's future has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks, with Bayern believed to have made him a priority target during the summer window.
At one stage, the Munich giants, who are still battling to sign Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane, were believed to be close to coming to an agreement with Walker.
However, Man City have been battling to keep hold of the 33-year-old, with Citizens head coach Pep Guardiola recently opening up on the importance of retaining his services.
According to the Daily Mail, Walker is now close to coming to an agreement over a new 12-month extension on his deal at the Etihad Stadium, which will take him until the summer of 2025.

Man City have already lost Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez this summer, and Walker is viewed as one of the leaders at the club.
The Englishman made the move to the Citizens from Tottenham Hotspur in 2017, and he has represented the team on 255 occasions, scoring six goals and registering 18 assists in the process.
Walker has won five Premier League titles, two FA Cup trophies, four EFL Cups, two Community Shields and the Champions League during his time at the Etihad Stadium.
The defender was again an important player for Man City last season, making 39 appearances in all competitions, but he was named on the bench for the Champions League final.

Walker will face further competition for a starting role this season following the arrival of Croatia international Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig.
However, the Englishman played the full 90 minutes of the Community Shield against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon, wearing the captain's armband for the treble winners.
Bayern will now seemingly have to switch their attention elsewhere in their bid to sign another defender, particularly with Benjamin Pavard set to leave in the near future.
Pavard has less than 12 months left to run on his contract at Allianz Arena, and Manchester United are believed to be interested in signing the France international.
Man City, who are currently being linked with West Ham United's Lucas Paqueta and Brighton & Hove Albion's Kaoru Mitoma, will begin the defence of their Premier League title away to Burnley on Friday night.
