Manchester City could reportedly be in the fray to bring midfielder Nigel de Jong back to the club.
The Netherlands international, who moved to AC Milan in the summer transfer window, has been dealt a blow in his career at the San Siro after damaging an Achilles tendon in his leg, which has placed him on the sidelines for the remainder of the season.
It is believed that the Serie A side may be willing to offload the midfielder and Premier League champions City could consider re-signing the 28-year-old, according to The Express.
Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has been reported as saying that the Italian outfit may look to find a replacement to De Jong in the January transfer window.
