Fabian Delph has insisted that he will be staying at Aston Villa and not joining Manchester City this summer.
Recent reports suggested that Delph was on the verge of joining City, but he has rubbished the speculation.
In a statement released on the Villa website this afternoon, the England international said that he wanted to "set the record straight".
"I'm aware there has been intense media speculation surrounding my future in the last 24 hours and I want to set the record straight," he said.
"I'm not leaving. I'm staying at the football club and I can't wait for the start of the season and captaining this great football club."
Delph still has four years remaining on his contract at Villa Park.
