Manchester City will reportedly move for Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar at the start of 2020.
The Premier League champions failed to replace the outgoing Vincent Kompany during the summer, while Aymeric Laporte's recent knee operation has left the Citizens short at the back.
According to Calciomercato, City had wanted to sign Skriniar during the summer transfer window, only to be told by Antonio Conte's side that the 24-year-old was not for sale.
However, the report claims that Pep Guardiola's side are ready to fight for the Slovakia international in January despite Inter's desire to keep hold of the former Zilina youngster.
Manchester United were also linked with Skriniar during the summer before ultimately breaking the transfer record for a central defender by signing Harry Maguire from Leicester City.
