Manchester City have confirmed that they have reached an agreement for the transfer of teenager Yan Couto from Brazilian side Coritiba.
The 17-year-old will put pen to paper on a five-year deal at the Etihad after drawing the attention of Pep Guardiola's side following a number of impressive performances at the Under-17 World Cup.
The defender has made 13 appearances for the Brazil Under-17 side, and created more chances than any other defender at November's World Cup as Brazil triumphed on home soil.
The Manchester Evening News reported back in January that the Citizens were working on a deal for the youngster on deadline day, however there was no rush to complete the transfer as Couto is unlikely to have an immediate impact on the first team.
Couto will depart Coritiba in the summer, and as of yet has not made a single appearance for the Serie A side.
