Manchester City defender Nathan Ake has revealed that he has no intention of leaving the club in this summer's transfer window.
The 27-year-old's future has recently come into question, with one report claiming that he has been told by the Citizens that he is free to leave the club.
Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe, who managed Ake during his time at Bournemouth, is believed to be keen to reunite with the £50m-rated Dutchman this summer.
However, Ake intends to remain with the Premier League champions and hopes that he can continue to develop under manager Pep Guardiola.
Speaking to Dutch news outlet NOS, Ake said: "Last season (2020-21) was very unhappy due to injuries, I don't really count that year. This season (2021-22) I was really 100% present and I played more. You notice an improvement in yourself, how you play. I felt good.
"I will go into the [new] season with that intention (to play for Man City). I will do everything I can to play even more."
Ake, who started 19 of his 27 appearances for the Citizens across all competitions in the 2021-22 campaign, still has three years remaining on his contract at the Etihad.
