Report: John Guidetti poised for Palermo switch

Palermo reportedly edge out competition from Fiorentina to sign Manchester City striker John Guidetti.

Palermo are reportedly closing in on the signing of Manchester City striker John Guidetti.

The 22-year-old was linked with a switch to Fiorentina in recent days but, according to the Daily Mail, Palermo have stolen a march on their Serie A rivals.

Guidetti, whose City contract expires next summer, made just one senior appearance for the Citizens in his six-year spell at Eastlands.

The youngster has one Sweden cap to his name, making his international debut against Croatia back in 2012.
