Patrice Evra: 'Manchester United ready for Bayern Munich clash'

Manchester United defender Patrice Evra says that his side have looked more confident when playing in the Champions League this season.

Manchester United defender Patrice Evra has said that his side have looked more confident when playing in the Champions League than in the Premier League this season.

The Red Devils have struggled in the league this season and are currently sixth in the table, but they will be confident of reaching the last four in Europe following a 1-1 draw in their first leg of their quarter final against Bayern Munich last week.

"In the Champions League we have played good, we are confident and it looks like we are all up for it more than in the league and in the cup," The Mirror quotes Evra as saying. "I know it is not professional to say that but it is the truth. We look more like the Man United spirit when we play in the Champions League.

"Why? It's difficult, really painful – I don't have any answer to that. Sometimes you have let the storm pass and make sure we are ready for Bayern and make sure we are ready for next year as well.

"You have to believe you can win the Champions League. This season we have played not so bad in it."

United face Bayern in the second leg of their last-eight tie on Wednesday evening at the Allianz Arena.
