Sports Mole looks at how Manchester United could line up for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Atalanta BC at Old Trafford.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to make a few changes to his starting XI as he looks to bounce back from his side's loss to Leicester City during Wednesday evening's Champions League clash with Atalanta BC.

The Red Devils currently sit third in Group F, after a shock loss to group underdogs Young Boys in the opening game was followed by a comeback victory against Villarreal, and Solskjaer's side have also been struggling in the Premier League in recent games.

That may lead to some changes in personnel, with Nemanja Matic paying the price for his side conceding four goals and Jadon Sancho dropped in attack after still having yet to produce a goal or assist in a red shirt.

Whilst Harry Maguire seemed to struggle during the defeat at the King Power - potentially having been rushed back to the side too early - he looks set to keep his place and will be joined in a back four by Victor Lindelof.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka's suspension following his red card against Young Boys was reduced to a single game, so the right-back is available for this third Champions League game and will likely return in place of Diogo Dalot, with Luke Shaw on the opposite side.

Scott McTominay looks the most likely to replace Matic, sitting alongside Paul Pogba with an attacking three in front of them and Cristiano Ronaldo leading the line.

Mason Greenwood should retain his spot on the right after his stunning strike against Leicester, with Marcus Rashford ousting Sancho in the starting XI - the 23-year-old came off the bench and scored upon his return from injury at the weekend.

Anthony Martial remains doubtful with a knock, whilst Raphael Varane and Amad Diallo are definitely sidelined with groin and thigh issues respectively.

Fred and Edinson Cavani returned late from international duty and missed the Leicester game, but will hope to feature at least from the bench.

Manchester United possible starting lineup: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; McTominay, Pogba; Greenwood, Fernandes, Rashford; Ronaldo
