Team News: Bastian Schweinsteiger back on Manchester United bench for Liverpool trip

Bastian Schweinsteiger returns to the Manchester United substitutes' bench for Thursday night's Europa League last-16 first leg against Liverpool.

Bastian Schweinsteiger is back on the Manchester United substitutes' bench for tonight's Europa League last-16 first leg against Liverpool at Anfield.

The German midfielder returns to the Red Devils' matchday squad after two months out with a knee injury.

Matteo Darmian, Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera and Jesse Lingard miss out, with Guillermo Varela, Morgan Schneiderlin, Marouane Fellaini and Memphis Depay coming in.

Liverpool, meanwhile, show three changes from the last-gasp win at Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Nathaniel Clyne replaces Jon Flanagan at right-back, while further forward Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge have taken the places of James Milner and Divock Origi.

Liverpool: Mignolet; Clyne, Lovren, Sakho, Moreno; Can, Henderson; Lallana, Coutinho, Firmino; Sturridge
Subs: Ward, Toure, Benteke, Allen, Origi, Smith, Ojo

Manchester United: De Gea; Varela, Smalling, Blind, Rojo; Schneiderlin, Fellaini; Memphis, Mata, Martial; Rashford
