Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick is hopeful that Fred will be available for the Premier League clash with Chelsea on April 28.
The Brazil international has missed his side's last two matches against Norwich City and Liverpool with the hip problem that he picked up against Everton on April 9.
Fred will again be missing for Saturday's clash with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, but Rangnick has said that the midfielder could be back in the fold against Chelsea at Old Trafford.
"[With] Fred, we don't know. Hopefully, he will be an option for the game against Chelsea, but, tomorrow, no," Rangnick told MUTV.
The 29-year-old has been an important player for the Red Devils during the 2021-22 campaign, making 33 appearances in all competitions, contributing four goals and six assists in the process.
Luke Shaw, though, is likely to miss the remainder of the campaign, having had an operation to remove two bolts in his leg, while Edinson Cavani, who is out of contract at the end of June, is still not training with the first team due to a calf problem.
