Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has claimed that Vincent Kompany's red card against Manchester United was "unfair".
The City captain was dismissed in the opening stages of their 3-2 FA Cup third round defeat for a contentious lunge on Nani.
"I seldom try to find excuses or comment on the referees but the unfair expulsion of Vincent Kompany conditioned the whole game today," Aguero tweeted.
"I want to thank the fans of Manchester City, who inspired us. If we stand together, both fans and players, we can achieve important feats."
City next host Liverpool in the first leg of their Carling Cup semi-final on Wednesday.
