Tom Cleverley has opened up about making his England debut in tonight's friendly in Italy.
The Manchester United star described representing his country as a "proud moment" and expressed his desire to earn more caps.
He said: "It was a proud moment, a big occasion any footballer's life. I managed to get on the ball at times, they made it hard for me.
"There were some hard tackles, [Daniele] De Rossi is a very good player. Hopefully I have impressed the manager and can be called up again."
Cleverley was singled out for praise by England manager Roy Hodgson in the wake of the 2-1 victory, which came about after Phil Jagielka and Jermain Defoe found the net.
Italy's goal came courtesy of an early De Rossi header.
