Juan Mata hails "special" Anthony Martial

Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata heaps praise on the "special" Anthony Martial following his winning goal against Everton at Old Trafford.

Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has heaped praise on Anthony Martial following the attacker's performance against Everton this afternoon.

Martial notched his 13th goal of the season to see United past the Toffees at Old Trafford, writing himself into club history with their 1,000th home Premier League goal in the process.

Mata believes that the 20-year-old has the ability to significantly add to that tally too, describing the Frenchman as "special".

"Since day one that I have trained with him, I have felt that this guy has something special," Mata told the club's official website.

"He has everything to succeed in football at this club. He is quick, has goals, he can beat players one on one and he understands football.

"I enjoy playing with him because we understand each other and we are very happy with him. He is having a fantastic season and hopefully he scores many more goals."

The victory takes United back to within one point of local rivals Manchester City in the final Champions League place.
