Miroslav Klose has suggested that some of Manchester United's players will struggle to prove their worth to Louis van Gaal.
The Dutch coach is well known for his strict approach with players, and Klose, who worked with him at Bayern Munich, admitted that he found it difficult to please his boss.
"It was a tough time, particularly working with Van Gaal," the Lazio forward told Die Zeit. "I didn't feel free. It was very difficult for me to fulfil his expectations. He was asking me to make runs I just couldn't see.
"I gave it all I could, but sometimes it just wasn't enough."
United continued their disappointing start to the season with a 4-0 loss to MK Dons in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday.
