Paul Ince hits out at "sulky" Paul Pogba

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Ince hits out at Paul Pogba following the Frenchman's performance against Sevilla.

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Ince has hit out at "sulky" Paul Pogba, claiming that the Frenchman "looked totally disinterested" during Tuesday's Champions League clash with Sevilla.

Pogba missed United's 2-1 win over Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday with a gashed leg, and was only on the bench for the last-16 second leg against Sevilla.

The 25-year-old was introduced in the second half of the European tie, but struggled to make an impression as United suffered a 2-1 home defeat to exit the competition to the Spanish outfit.

Ince has said that he has lost faith in Pogba due to his lack of application on Tuesday night.

"A player I've never criticised is Pogba, he's been an easy scapegoat for a lot of United's poor performances. In fact, I've always backed him," Ince told Paddy Power News. "But, last night (Tuesday), I started to see why some pundits and fans moan about him. I'd describe his performance, in one word, as 'sulky'.

"He came on and looked totally disinterested. I can understand he was probably annoyed at Marouane Fellaini being chosen ahead of him, but you shouldn't take those frustrations out on the rest of the team and the happiness of the fans.

"Irrespective of what's going on, whether you've been having a tough time of it lately or you're feeling irritated at not being selected, you need to appreciate what an honour it is to be at United. And you need to put a shift in, if not for yourself but for the sake of your teammates and loyal fans."

United will attempt to return to winning ways when they host Brighton & Hove Albion in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Saturday night.
