Rafael: 'I know Louis van Gaal didn't like me'

Former Manchester United defender Rafael da Silva claims that he knows Louis van Gaal 'did not like him' after leaving Old Trafford for Lyon.

Former Manchester United defender Rafael da Silva has hit out at Louis van Gaal by claiming that his former manager disliked him.

The right-back was sold to Lyon earlier this month, and the Brazilian believes that he never had a future at United under the Dutchman.

The Mirror quotes Rafael as saying: "I know this history that [Van Gaal] doesn't like Brazilians, but I can't say, 'oh, he doesn't like Brazilians'.

"I know that he didn't like me, but if that's because I'm Brazilian, I don't know."

The 25-year-old went on to claim that his Old Trafford career never recovered from the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013 and revealed that the Scot has phoned him to wish him good luck in France.
