Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has admitted that Louis van Gaal's introduction at Old Trafford has been "tough".
The Dutchman is known for his strict approach, but Rooney has insisted that the players have now "embraced" their manager's training methods.
The Red Devils are due to finish in the top four of the Premier League, with a trip to Hull City scheduled for their final game of the season on Sunday.
According to The Express, when asked how he has found Van Gaal, Rooney said: "Tough. It was a different way of working to what we are used to but I think the players have embraced that.
"The first few months it was different and we found it tough and I think that probably showed in our performances, but since then I think everyone has seen the quality of football we have been playing and I'm sure the experience the manager has got we see us all kick on from that, we will learn and it will benefit us."
United are currently two points behind third-placed Arsenal.
