Arsenal and Liverpool could move for Leicester City's Youri Tielemans before the end of the transfer window, according to a report.

Arsenal and Liverpool are both reportedly considering moving for Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans before the end of the transfer window.

The Belgium international's future has been the subject of much speculation this summer, with a number of clubs believed to be admirers of the central midfielder.

Leicester have thus far managed to keep hold of the 25-year-old, but according to journalist Ben Jacobs, both Arsenal and Liverpool are eyeing moves ahead of the deadline.

Tielemans's contract at the King Power Stadium is due to expire next June, meaning that the Foxes are not in a strong position when it comes to his future.

The midfielder was again a key player for Brendan Rodgers's side last season, making 50 appearances in all competitions, contributing seven goals and five assists in the process.

"That is not out of the question," Tielemans recently told reporters when questioned on a possible exit. "I feel very good at Leicester, I was welcomed with open arms from day one. I give everything for the club until the last day.

"But of course you have to listen to other opportunities, you have to look at your career, and sometimes you have to make choices. Maybe one will come my way."

Tielemans has played in all four of Leicester's matches this season, although he started on the bench against Southampton last weekend amid the speculation surrounding his future.

Arsenal are still believed to be keen to sign a new midfielder before the transfer deadline, while Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has also said that the club will look to improve in that area of the field before the end of the window.

"That [looking to sign a player] changed of course," Klopp told reporters during his latest press conference. "I know we have had this discussion since it all started. I am the one who said we don't need a midfielder, and you were all right and I was wrong. That's the situation.

"But the specific point doesn't change - we will do something but it has to be the right one. We are actually working constantly on these things, sometimes [a possible transfer is] too expensive, sometimes not the right player, sometimes the situation changes.

"We are working and will see if something will happen or not. I don't know. We are looking and if it is the right player we need him. If it is not the right player we don't need him.

"We will not change how we deal with the situation so there is nothing for me to say to you in this moment. We will see."

The Belgian joined Leicester from Monaco in January 2019, initially on loan, and he has been an important player for the Foxes, scoring 24 goals and registering 24 assists in 152 appearances.

There have been suggestions that he could be available for around £30m this summer, with Manchester United also credited with an interest earlier in the transfer window.
