Atletico Madrid reportedly lead the race to sign Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly leading the race to sign Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic.

The 32-year-old has been strongly linked with a move away from Camp Nou this summer, and Barcelona have reportedly set a €20m (£17.6m) asking price for the Croatia international.

According to Marca, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to bring the midfielder to Old Trafford, but the Red Devils will face stiff competition from Atletico for Rakitic's signature.

The report claims that Diego Simeone's side are at the head of the queue for the former Sevilla man, who has registered three assists in 21 La Liga appearances for Barcelona this term.

The midfielder's current deal with La Blaugrana will expire next summer, having won four La Liga titles and one Champions League during his time at Camp Nou.
