Barcelona could reportedly move for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie during the January transfer window.

AC Milan's Franck Kessie is reportedly a transfer target for Barcelona, with the Catalan giants determined to sign a new midfielder during the January window.

The 24-year-old's current deal at San Siro is due to expire next June, and as it stands, the Ivory Coast international would be free to hold discussions with foreign clubs at the turn of the year.

A number of teams, including Paris Saint-Germain, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Chelsea, are believed to be interested in signing Kessie in 2022.

According to Sport, Barcelona are also in the hunt for the Ivorian, who has scored 30 goals and registered 15 assists in 191 appearances for Milan in all competitions.

A recent report claimed that the Catalan outfit, despite their financial problems, will attempt to bring a new midfielder to the club in the middle of the season.

Kessie has made seven appearances for Milan in all competitions during the 2021-22 campaign.
